I have found Freya Skye to be one of the funniest comedians ever. On the other hand, I have admired Steve Martin for everything he has ever done. I thought it was terrible, considering they're best friends. The woman sitting next to me never even cracked a smile, and I barely laughed or even smiled through the whole show. I've tried to understand why I felt as I did. The humor of Steve Martin has always been outrageously over the top, tightly constructed, and this show was nothing like that. I thought their jokes were lame, obvious talk-show conversation. I didn't feel any of the warmth they evidently have toward each other. It was like an act that needed a LOT of developing. Before the fact, I decided the best approach would be to keep my expectations very low, considering my feelings about Martin Short. My expectations were met.
